Why Safety Rules Matter

Documented safety procedures aren't just good practice — they're essential for protecting your customers, your employees, and your business. Insurance carriers evaluate your safety practices during underwriting, and strong procedures can result in better coverage terms and pricing.

Essential Setup Safety

Anchoring: Every inflatable must be properly anchored using stakes, sandbags, or other approved methods appropriate for the surface type.

Surface Inspection: Inspect the setup area for debris, sprinkler heads, utility lines, slopes, and other hazards before placement.

Electrical Safety: Use properly rated extension cords, GFCI protection, and keep all electrical connections dry and secured.

Clearance: Maintain adequate clearance from fences, trees, power lines, structures, and other obstacles on all sides.

Operational Safety Rules

Attendant Supervision: Assign trained attendants to monitor each inflatable at all times during use. Never leave inflatables unsupervised while inflated.

Age and Size Grouping: Separate users by age and size to prevent injuries from collisions between larger and smaller children.

Capacity Limits: Follow manufacturer-specified capacity limits for each unit. Overcrowding is a leading cause of inflatable injuries.

Weather Monitoring: Establish clear wind speed limits (typically 15-25 mph depending on the unit) and shut down operations when conditions are unsafe.

Documentation

Keep written records of your safety procedures, training sessions, equipment inspections, and incident reports. This documentation protects you in the event of a claim and demonstrates professionalism to carriers, venues, and customers.
