    Who needs FEC insurance

FEC insurance is for venue operators with mixed inventory under one roof. Examples:

    • Indoor inflatable venues (party-package + open-play)
    • Trampoline parks (often the higher end of the FEC risk band)
    • Indoor amusement and arcade complexes with redemption operations
    • Mixed-inventory venues (inflatable + axe-throwing + arcade + food service)
    • Mini golf, laser tag, and indoor go-kart operations
    • Children's edutainment and pay-to-play venues

    What an FEC policy covers

    • General liability β€” third-party injury and property damage across all venue activities, scheduled by class.
    • Commercial property β€” building, contents, equipment, inventory, with named-storm coverage where applicable.
    • Equipment breakdown β€” internal mechanical and electrical failure of blowers, pumps, motion-base controls, AC compressors, kitchen equipment.
    • Business income β€” revenue replacement during covered closures (named-storm, fire, equipment breakdown).
    • Abuse and molestation β€” required defense layer for any youth-serving venue, even with no incident history.
    • Workers compensation β€” required in most states for venues with employees.
    • Liquor liability (when applicable) β€” for FECs with full-kitchen and bar service.

    Common FEC inventory we cover

    • Inflatable open-play structures and party rooms
    • Trampolines (foam pits, dodgeball courts, jumbo platforms)
    • Ziplines and ropes courses (often paired with trampoline exposure)
    • Axe throwing lanes and league hosting
    • Arcade games and redemption centers
    • Laser tag arenas
    • Mini golf courses (indoor or attached outdoor)
    • Food service with full kitchen, redemption snack bar, or beverage service

    Abuse and molestation coverage

Any venue serving children needs A&M coverage as a defense layer. The coverage responds to allegations of abuse, regardless of whether the allegation is substantiated, and pays defense costs that standard GL excludes. Carriers require background-check policies and posted supervision protocols for FEC employees β€” we work with you on documentation during the quote.

    Equipment breakdown explained

Standard commercial property covers external causes (fire, wind, theft) but excludes internal mechanical failure. Equipment breakdown fills that gap: when a blower, pump, motor, or controller fails internally, the coverage pays repair or replacement plus business income loss while the equipment is down. For FECs, blower failure on an inflatable closes a party room; AC compressor failure can close the venue on a hot day.

Operating an FEC in Florida or a Gulf state?

Named-storm coverage and business interruption are essential. We can structure the package.

Business interruption β€” extended closure scenarios

For FECs in Florida and Gulf states, named-storm closures can extend beyond a single event. Business interruption (also called business income) replaces lost revenue and ongoing expenses during the closure. The coverage period is typically 12 months of actual loss, with extended periods of indemnity available. Equipment breakdown closures and fire closures also trigger BI.

    State amusement-device registration

FECs that operate amusement devices (trampolines, ziplines, ropes courses, certain inflatables) often need state amusement-device registration in addition to standard business licensing. We confirm state requirements during underwriting and structure the policy to comply.

    What affects your FEC premium

    • Square footage and venue type (indoor vs mixed indoor/outdoor)
    • Inventory mix (trampolines drive premium higher than inflatable-only)
    • Annual visitor count and party-package volume
    • Food service exposure (snack bar vs full kitchen vs liquor)
    • Background-check and supervision protocol documentation
    • Claims history
    • State of operation (named-storm exposure in FL/Gulf states)
    • Equipment breakdown schedule and inventory replacement values
